New Party Founded: Hak Party
Vulture parties are swooping in to land and position themselves to pick up votes after the AK Party is closed.
A new political party was announced today, the Hak ve Hakikat Partisi. My preliminary translation is Truth and Reality Party (each of the terms has a number of meanings. Hak also means right and justice. Hakikat also means veracity. How about the Truth and Truthiness Party?!) The terms are often used in Islamic discourse.
Hak Party was founded by Dursun Gunes and 40 others. It professes a platform to continue the national struggle within the boundaries of law and constitution, with no differences between religion, language, ethnicity and race, for a true democracy for a Turkish Republic that can deserve the highest place in the world community. The party symbol will be the image of a sun inside a sickle moon.
If this is the Dursun Gunes who is the preacher (click here), then it will be a highly religious party. On the website it shows in the upper left a photo of a “new member” of Gunes’s congregations, Harun Yahya (aka Adnan Hodja), a self-styled religious cult leader of wealthy Istanbul youth who spends huge amounts of money promoting creationism around the world.
